HA Clinical Study on the Effect on Diet through Cooperation of Nutriwell System and Oriental Medicine for 84Patients with Obesity and Partial-Obesity

Abstract
Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect on diet through cooperation of Nutriwell system and oriental medicine.

Methods: We divided 84 patients into 4 groups, which are normal weight control group A(n=16), normal weight test group A(n=20), obesity control group B(n=18) and obesity test group B(n=30). Two control groups are treated by herbal medication, exercise therapy, nutrition and behavioral medification therapy for 1 month. And the others are treated by herbal medication, exercise therapy, nutrition thrapy, behavioral medification therapy, acupuncture, moxibustion and Nutriwell system for 1 month, too.

Results: In obesity group, herbal medication could significantly decrease. body weight, WHR, BMI and obesity index through relative weight. And cooperation of herbal medication and Nutriwell system decreased more significantly body weight and waist circumference and also reduced more clearly body fat rate, body fat mass, BMI and obesity index. In normal weight group, cooperation of herbal medication and Nutriwell system showed more significant decline than herbal medication in body weight, hip circumference, BMI and obesity index.

Conclusions: This study showed that there is not an only method for diet. Multiple approach for one patient with obesity is profitable. Nutriwell system is just one of them. Oriental medical system must improve and develop its originative program through many treatment systems for obesity.
